Sustainable Initiatives by Indonesian Government
Tourism and the creative economy are two key sectors for Indonesia’s national development, contributing 13.85% of the country’s GDP. To strengthen these sectors, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy launched Green Tourism and Creative Economy, also known as Green Parekraf. This strategy aims to boost economic stability while protecting the environment.
Regenerative tourism and collaboration
Regenerative Tourism in Indonesia focuses on using natural, human, and cultural resources in ways that preserve the environment and support local economies. This includes encouraging responsible spending and fair pricing to prevent negative impacts on visitors and communities. By fostering collaboration between travelers and locals, this model helps ensure long-term sustainability.
